Questions

Quick answers. If yours isn't here, write to us.

Is it really free?

The Library (up to 50 sounds), Discover and the sounds in the Essentials bundles cost nothing. Studio, the effects, the Auto Folder and an unlimited library are part of a plan.

What is the difference between Free mode and credits?

Free mode runs Gemini inside the Mac app with your own Google account. Credits use SoundDrop's own music service, with no Gemini account needed and the same credits on every device you sign in on.

Can I use the sounds in videos I sell or post?

Sounds in the bundles are CC0 (public domain) and sounds from Discover show their own licence on the sound. AI audio carries Google's inaudible SynthID watermark and Google's terms apply. Check them before commercial use.

Where does my money go and how do I cancel?

Payments go through Stripe (or the App Store on iPhone). Open the account menu and choose Manage Subscription to cancel or change plan. See the refund policy.

Does SoundDrop see my password?

Google, Apple and Stripe handle their own sign-in and payment pages. If you make a SoundDrop account with an email, your password is stored only as a salted hash, never as text.

Which devices does it work on?

Mac (macOS 26), Windows and Linux, and iPhone and iPad. The App Store version is coming soon. Android comes after that.

Where are my sounds kept?

On your own device. Naming and searching help run on the device too. Your account only stores your plan and credits.

Can I try it before I download?

Yes: the test version in your browser is the real app screens running in a web page. Your test library stays in your browser.
